FAQ
How long will it take to get my order?
Each poncho and cloak is made to order. Please allow 6–8 weeks for production before shipping. We’re a small shop — quality takes time, and it’s worth the wait.
Are these always available?
Some are. The Forest Scout is our baseline model and stays open for pre-order year-round. Other drops — like V2 colors, cloaks, or ripstop — are released in limited batches on a set schedule.
Are they water resistant?
Not by default. Wool handles light rain fine, but it’s not waterproof. That said, these take DWR treatments (especially wash-in types) extremely well — better than most synthetics. If you want water resistance, it’s an easy DIY upgrade.
Can I get one sooner?
Sometimes. We offer a Rush Fee option for special cases, but it has to be discussed before you order. If you’re on a deadline, shoot us a message first.
What’s the wool made of?
We use an 80/20 wool blend — about half of the wool content is merino, and the 20% synthetic boosts durability. It’s dense, rugged, and built for field use — not flimsy fashion fabric.
Why does my Forest poncho have a chemical smell?
Older Forest ponchos were made from emergency wool blanket material that can carry a fire-retardant odor. It’s harmless and usually fades after a wash and a few days drying outside. We chose this material for its durability. Current Forest ponchos use upgraded wool with no smell.
What’s different about the upgraded Forest ponchos?
The new Forest ponchos use 550gsm triple-washed wool with no odor, softer texture, and improved durability. Same color, same rugged cut, just upgraded across the board.
Where does your wool come from?
Our wool is milled in India, to the specs we’ve developed over a year of testing. It’s the only source we’ve found that hits the weight, texture, and durability we demand at scale. Every piece is handcrafted in Texas by one guy — me.
