The Field Cloak
The Field Cloak is a working field cloak built for endurance and warmth. Each one is hand cut from 16oz loom woven wool, a dense, heavy layer chosen for structure, longevity, and real world use. This is not costume fabric. It holds heat, resists wear, and shrugs off stray campfire sparks.
Each cloak is expertly hemmed on all edges and finished using lockstitch construction throughout the body and hood. Lockstitching interlocks thread on both sides of the fabric, creating strong, reliable seams that resist unraveling under tension, movement, and extended field use.
The half circle cut leaves the front open for full mobility and immediate access to chest rigs, belts, or other kit. It is designed to layer cleanly over equipment without binding or restricting movement. Because the front stays open, the Field Cloak vents heat better than a poncho and often feels lighter in use, with most of the weight riding across the shoulders and back.
The oversized hood pulls low to hide the face or fits cleanly over a tactical helmet. A paracord drawstring runs through the channel for quick adjustment when needed. The adjustable G hook clasp and one inch ranger green webbing secure the front quietly, chosen to close without clatter, shine, or excess hardware.
The heavy wool drape breaks up the human outline and slows heat buildup on thermal optics, adding what we call thermal delay, a brief distortion that buys time and softens the image to the human eye. This cloak is designed to confuse the human observer behind the sensor, not defeat the technology itself.

Field Use
Field Use
Built for cold to moderate weather field use, natural terrain concealment, and layering over outdoor or tactical gear.
Best suited for:
Cold weather wear
Low profile movement
Layering over chest rigs, belts, packs, or kit
Breaking up the human outline in natural terrain
Users who want field function with a cloak silhouette
Wear and Movement
Wear and Movement
The Field Cloak is open in the front, which makes it cooler and more breathable than a poncho draped over the front of the body.
Although the cloak uses more material, it often feels lighter in use because most of the weight rides across the shoulders and back instead of hanging evenly across the front and rear like a poncho.
The open front also allows fast access to chest rigs, belts, pockets, and equipment without lifting the garment out of the way.
Thermal Delay
Thermal Delay
The wool does not make you invisible to thermal optics.
It slows heat signature buildup and helps distort the clean human outline seen through thermal imaging. This is what we call thermal delay.
Thermal delay is most effective when combined with terrain, shadow, reduced movement, and smart positioning. The goal is to confuse the human observer behind the sensor, not defeat the technology itself.
Cloak vs Poncho
Cloak vs Poncho
Choose the Field Cloak if you want:
Better airflow during movement
Easier access to gear
A garment that feels lighter on the body
Strong silhouette breakup
A more dramatic cloak profile
Choose the Wool Poncho if you want:
More total coverage
Better protection across the front of the body
Shelter capability with tie outs
More versatility as both garment and field tool
Limitations
Limitations
The cloak is longer than a poncho and may brush against tall grass, branches, or thick vegetation.
It is not as fully enclosed as a poncho, so it does not seal in warmth the same way. The open front improves airflow, but offers less front coverage in wind or harsh weather.
Material and Build
Material and Build
Made from heavyweight 16oz loom woven wool with lockstitched construction and expertly hemmed edges.
The wool is chosen for structure, durability, warmth, matte appearance, and thermal delay. This is not costume fabric. It is field gear built with a cloak silhouette.

The cloak is great its a wonderful blanket right now and will soon be used on a hunt and hike.
Perfect!
Not only is the cloak immaculate, I had a funny interaction with the team regarding sizing. I was so excited to get the order in that I did not list a size. I sent a follow up to make note of it only to have a secondary confirmation come a week or so later. Good laughs. The product is great and the craftsmanship is palpable. Couldn’t suggest it more.
Thank you so much, and I’m glad we figured out the sizing lol. Really appreciate the kind words and I’m happy you’re loving the cloak.
Love it! Old world vibes with modern advantages.
That's exactly it!
Absolutely amazing product!
Thanks!
I received this cloak about a week ago. First impressions are great. The fit and craftsmanship is fantastic. I bought it as a warming layer for static glassing while hunting, and as part of my sleep system. There is plenty material to wrap yourself in it as a blanket. The clasp is sew in a way that it does not choke you, and it doesn't interfere with my bino harness or pistol chest holster. 10/10
