Note: Cloaks are not eligible for the Tie Out Upgrade. Any orders that include Cloaks will be refunded.

For those who want to push their gear further, we now offer an optional Tie Out Upgrade. This replaces metal grommets with reinforced fabric tie out loops at each corner and along the long sides of the poncho, expanding its real world utility in the field.

What this allows you to do

Rig the poncho as an emergency shelter
Set it up as a concealment or observation screen
Anchor it securely in wind or uneven terrain

Why tie outs instead of grommets

We originally experimented with grommets, and after real field use, tie outs proved to be the better solution.

They are less reflective, no exposed metal catching light
They are stronger under tension, fabric loops distribute force instead of tearing at a single point
They perform better for hide sites and static positions, where durability and subtlety matter more than convenience

In short, the loops hold up better, fail less often, and stay quieter and lower profile.

Each tie out loop is sewn and reinforced by hand in our workshop. No shortcuts, no mass production, just strength where it actually counts.

Why is this optional

Because not everyone needs tie outs. We do not believe in forcing added cost into every poncho for a feature you may never use. If you need it, it is available. If you do not, you are not paying for it.

If you would like to add tie outs to a Poncho you have already received, contact us before checkout so we can coordinate shipping and lead times. Orders placed without prior coordination will be refunded and canceled.

Due to variations between material batches, reinforcement panels may vary slightly in shade.
