Guerrilla Poncho
The Guerrilla Poncho was built for those who think ahead, the preppers, civilian defense-minded individuals, and anyone with a get-home plan who understands how fast normal can fall apart. Whether facing civil unrest, a grid-down scenario, or the unthinkable, this poncho is a tool designed to help you move fast, stay hidden, and protect what matters.
Its mission is simple: concealment above all. The Rhodesian Brushstroke camo pattern became legendary in the African bush for its ability to blend seamlessly into dry grass, scrub, and mixed woodland. The disruptive shapes and earth-toned palette break up the human outline in a way that feels natural in transitional terrain. Made from durable NYCO ripstop fabric that's water resistant and IRR-compliant, the Guerrilla Poncho helps reduce your visual and IR signature without adding unnecessary bulk. Unlike our wool ponchos and cloaks, the Guerrilla Ripstop Poncho is not a thermal delay product. It is built for visual concealment, near infrared performance, mobility, and packability. No gimmicks. No hype. Just gear that works when you need it to.
Features:
- Rhodesian Brushstroke camouflage — optimized for savanna, scrubland, and transitional woodland environments
- Lightweight NYCO ripstop construction for mobility and packability
- Water resistant fabric that takes DWR and permethrin treatments well
- IRR-compliant material to help disrupt visual and IR signature
- Three-piece hood contours to the head for improved weather resistance and a more secure fit
- Includes drawstring storage bag for compact carry
- Optional Tie-Out Upgrade available [HERE] for tie-out points (not standard)
Sizing:
Small: 5’2” to 5’5” (44” x 73”)
Medium: 5’6” to 5’11” (46” x 77”)
Large: 6’0” to 6’4” (48” x 81”)
This is a tool, not a toy. No flash, no noise, just quiet capability for those who stay ready.
Field Use
Field Use
Built for lightweight concealment, movement, and field carry when visual disruption matters more than warmth.
Best suited for:
Movement through wooded, dry, transitional, or pattern specific terrain
Layering over clothing, packs, chest rigs, or belt kit
Fast setup as a concealment screen or field cover when paired with the Tie Out Upgrade
Users who want a lighter, more packable alternative to wool
This is the better choice when mobility, camouflage, and packability matter more than insulation.
Visual Concealment
Visual Concealment
The Guerrilla Poncho is built to break up the human outline using camouflage, shape disruption, and an oversized poncho cut.
The goal is to make the wearer harder to identify as a person in natural terrain. Each camouflage pattern is chosen for a specific environment, so match the pattern to where you actually plan to use it.
M81 Woodland is best for forests, grasslands, and mixed North American terrain.
Rhodesian Brushstroke is best for dry grass, scrub, and transitional woodland.
Desert Tigerstripe is best for dry, open, brushy, and transitional terrain.
IR Compliance
IR Compliance
The NYCO ripstop material is IRR compliant, meaning it is intended to perform better under near infrared observation than standard fashion or commercial fabrics.
This helps reduce unwanted glow or unnatural brightness when viewed under night vision.
IR compliance does not make the poncho invisible. It is one part of a concealment system that also depends on terrain, lighting, movement, and the rest of your clothing and equipment.
Wear and Movement
Wear and Movement
The Guerrilla Poncho is lighter and more packable than the wool ponchos and cloaks.
The oversized cut allows it to layer over clothing and gear while still giving room to move. The three piece hood is designed to contour better to the head for improved fit, weather resistance, and reduced bulk.
Compared to wool, the ripstop version is easier to carry, faster to deploy, and better suited for movement in warmer conditions.
Guerrilla vs Wool Poncho
Guerrilla vs Wool Poncho
Choose the Guerrilla Ripstop Poncho if you want:
Lightweight visual concealment
IRR compliant camouflage fabric
Better packability
Warmer weather use
A water resistant outer layer
A poncho that moves easily over gear
Choose a Wool Poncho if you want:
Warmth and insulation
Thermal delay
Natural flame resistance
Better cold weather comfort
A heavier, quieter, more traditional field layer
The Guerrilla Poncho is for visual and near infrared concealment. The Wool Poncho is for warmth, durability, and thermal delay.
Limitations
Limitations
The Guerrilla Ripstop Poncho does not provide thermal delay like the wool ponchos and cloaks.
It is not designed for insulation, extreme cold, or natural flame resistance. It is also not a replacement for full rain gear, though the water resistant fabric can help shed light weather and can take DWR treatment.
For best results, use it with matching terrain, reduced movement, and clothing or gear that does not defeat the camouflage effect.
